My nomadic life will be on hold for a little while as I have accepted a job offer at the hospital in Hamilton for the next 12 months as a plastic surgical registrar.
No no, it's not the nip and tuck and I will not be sleeping with hot models wanting a free boob job, like you see on TV.
It's more about burns, reconstructions, trauma, muscle and nerve repairs, and a whole lot of skin cancer excisions.
Not so glamorous, but helluva interesting job and I'm really looking forward to the challenge!
It's gonna be pretty busy and I'm afraid my involvement at dA will be rather sporadic as a result.
(To be honest, part of the reason I want to do surgery is so I can listen to my music while operating...)
Gosh it seems like years since I've had any meaningful input into dA but let me assure you I'm still very much alive Actually, after my 2-month adventure in Europe, I am more alive than ever!
A ton of pictures, along with the ones I took but never processed before I left has me overwhelmed by the thought of going through them to pick the ones to upload...
On top of that, I brought back a couple supremely impractical, yet amazingly beautiful props from Europe that I'm dying to shoot with.
(By impractical, I mean it was so big I had to buy an extra seat on my flight from France to London)
But anyways, the important thing is that I'm back and thank you for not thinking I'm dead and deleting me from your watch list. I promise to reward you with some yummy piccies.
In less than 48 hours I will be on my flight sipping gin & tonic on my way to the first leg of my European adventure to Tokyo (which is not part of Europe )
I know I haven't been superactive on dA these days but my working life and personal life has been rather busy and I have not been able to keep myself in a creative state of mind... and while I've managed to upload what I wanted from my South American trip (2 1/2 months ago!) the photos I've taken since then are still sitting in the vault, fermenting, stayin true to my Professional Procrastinator status
So here I go again, my friends... on to another adventure, leaving a few loose ends here with open endings to be sorted out another day... artistically, professionally and personally.
In the meantime, here is my rough (very flexible depending on what I fancy at the time) schedule, if for some bizarre reason you feel like catching up with me if I happen to be passing by:
31 August -- Tokyo 4 Sept -- Paris 7 Sept -- Berlin 10 Sept -- Prague 11 - 17 Sept -- Prague Olomouc Krakow Zakopane Budapest 18 Sept -- Vienna 20 Sept -- Munich (Oktoberfest!!) 23 Sept -- Venice
After that we'll be making our way to Venice, La spezia, Nice the Brest at top of France... then eventually to London. No dates yet
